Terms of Service
Last updated: July 19, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Verity (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
What Verity does
Verity checks how AI assistants — currently ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), and Perplexity — describe your business, and produces a report of accuracy, visibility, and sentiment scores along with findings you can act on. The Service is designed for small and local businesses.
The nature of AI results — important
The reports Verity produces are built from answers generated by third-party AI language models. You acknowledge and agree to the following about how those models behave:
- They are non-deterministic. The same question asked twice can produce different answers. Two scans of the same business, moments apart and with nothing changed, may yield different scores, findings, or wording.
- They can be wrong.AI models can state information that is inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, or entirely fabricated (“hallucinated”), and they may present it confidently regardless.
- They change over time. AI providers update their models, data, and behavior without notice. Results are a snapshot of what a model said at the moment of the scan, not a stable or guaranteed measurement.
- We do not control them. The underlying answers come from third parties. Verity measures and organizes those answers but does not author, verify, or endorse them.
Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login secure, and for all activity under your account. You must provide a valid email address and be authorized to request checks for the business you submit.
Scans, credits, and billing
- The Service runs on scan credits. Each scan (whether run manually or as an optional automatic monthly re-check) consumes one credit.
- Credits may be bought as a one-time purchase or through a monthly subscription that grants credits each renewal. Purchased and subscription credits roll over and do not expire while your account is active.
- Where offered, a free trial applies only to the specific pack indicated at checkout, and only once per user. Payments are processed by Stripe under its terms.
- You can cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation stops future renewals. Except where required by law, payments already made and credits already granted are non-refundable.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to check a business without authorization.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Resell, scrape, or misrepresent the Service or its output.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or mislead others.
Intellectual property
The Service, its software, and its branding are owned by us. You retain rights to the business information you submit, and you grant us the limited right to use it to provide the Service. The reports we generate are provided to you for your own business use.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service, or any AI-derived result it produces, will be accurate, complete, reliable, current, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Verity and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on any AI-derived result, score, or finding. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Verity harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your submitted content, or your violation of these Terms.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Verity agree that the state and federal courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to venue in those courts, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
